We have successfully held dialysis course over 3 days from the 26th of June until the 30th of the same month by Twelve hour, four hours a day , where the number of participants reached where approximately 35 students to try their practical experience regarding the field of medical devices.
The Student Branch organized this session to complete the efforts to close the gap between what the student learns from academically and practical market and in addition of medical devices, and how to benefit from this knowledge in practice (training), to play a key role as a link between them.
The sessions were supervised by Eng. Ahmed Borini .
The beginning was with The Dialysis Device, where it is one of the most complex devices the world of medical devices regarding maintenance and perhaps the most sensitive, it seems scary to many medical engineers and maintenance engineers in hospitals, so we had to discover how it functions , the Engineer was able with significant expertise to simplify all concepts related to device and pieces, trying to explain by a simplified manner, the hydraulic system down for the user interface, which is seen by the doctor and the patient .
It was necessary first of all to explain the physiological part of the device, study the kidney and its functions, its parts and how they function and relate to the other body organs and the influence caused by the failure to function, and where and what the reasons for limitations of kidneys’ function. In addition to the symptoms that appear on the patient as soon as limitation or failure takes place. to go through then to what the device work for and the amount of effort in an attempt to simulate the total function process of a kidney.
The device was explained piece by piece in addition to disassembling and reassembling to have a complete image of what the doctor deals with as a whole.
