As a continuation of the seminars series, IEEE-EMBS Student Chapter organised the fourth seminar in March 28, 2013 hosting Dr. Khaled Al Wedyan from Mechatronics Engineering Department, who shared his experience in research in Robotic Systems And Automation.
The seminar was attended by a large audience reached 150 students as well as some faculty members from Mechatronics and Biomedical Engineering departments.
At the beginning Dr. Al Wedyan gave a general definition of Robotics and Automation, and how robot manufacturing started and developed with time, then he mentioned an example to show the importance of robots and how can they facilitate human’s life and increase safty.
He also mentioned the relationship between engineering fields specially Biomedical and Mechatronics engineering, that is shown in studying and analysing the motion of human body to help in the design of robots movement.
The seminar ended with students questions and a discussion about the future of both Biomedical and Mechatronics Engineering.
A friendly relationship was built between the two departments through this seminar, looking forward for more upcoming seminars.
Look out for us in upcoming events!
