In 20/12/2012 IEEE EMBS HU Student Chapter organized a symposium about the future of the Biomedical Engineering field in Jordan from different points of view, The seminar held at the western auditorium of the faculty of engineering in the Hashemite University during one exciting hour (2:00pm – 3:00pm), the chapter hosted three experienced speakers from three different educational levels as following:-
- Dr.Loay Al-Zube, Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering from USA & Faculty member at the Hashemite University.
- Eng.Jamal Msaffr, 20 years of experience in the practical field of the Biomedical Engineering.
- Eng.Belal Al-Salmi, fresh graduate engineer (Class of 2009 from Hashemite University )
- Student Hamsa Alia, ( Graduation semester )
Initially every speaker took approximately 5 minutes to talk about the realty of the Biomedical Engineering field in the Labor Market of Jordan;in addition to that every one of them spoke about his personal experience.
After that we opened an open discussion between the audiences and the speakers through questions from the audiences and answers from the speakers; everyone from his point of view.
As a summary, the discussion focused on multiple points as ”what are the problems of the labor market of the Biomedical Engineering in Jordan and the solutions”, ”how to develop the BME field through the IEEE EMBS” & ”how the graduated students can be the most effective persons in the market”
The number of attendees was 45 guests from invitees, 8 from EMBS members and 2 faculty members (Dr.Thaker Al-Momani & Dr.Rula Al-Abdullat).
